Lisa Babb, MSW

Supervisee in Social Work

As a social worker, my work is grounded in the belief that every person has inherent dignity and worth and deserves to be treated with respect and compassion. In sessions, I strive to create a judgment-free space where clients feel accepted, empowered, and supported.

I work with children, adolescents, and adults managing issues of depression, anxiety, trauma, life transitions, and loss. I use a creative and collaborative approach to help clients improve personal insight, cultivate emotional well-being, and tap into inherent strengths.

Every individual comes to therapy with their own unique story shaped by their life experiences. In building relationships, I am mindful of the multitude of cultural and historical factors that influence our lives including race, sexual orientation, physical ability, gender norms, religion, intergenerational trauma, systemic racism, and much, much more. I consider myself an ally of members of the LGBTQ+ community, BIPOC, and other groups that have faced marginalization and oppression.  I am a Supervisee in Social Work in the Commonwealth of Virginia. I received my Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Memphis and Master’s of Social Work from George Mason University. I have clinical experience providing individual, group, and family therapy with children, adolescents, and adults.
