Damian Ayala, LPCLicensed Professional Counselor
Damian is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
Damian graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in History from The Ohio State University and a Master’s of Arts in Professional Counseling from Liberty University. Damian worked within the elementary school environment as both a Special Education teacher and a behavioral health clinician. He has provided therapy in a variety of settings, including schools, homes, juvenile detention centers, and outpatient counseling offices.
Damian is experienced in working with children, adolescents, adults, and families to address needs related to attachment, grief, trauma, anxiety, depression, life transitions, emotion regulation, and disruptive behavior. Damian focuses on providing a safe environment that nurtures connection and collaboration with his clients in order to instill hope and cultivate the outcomes they are seeking.
Damian is a certified facilitator of Good Enough Parenting, an evidence-informed parent training program focused on helping parents meet their child’s core emotional needs while reducing interactions that exasperate the relationship.
Damian focuses on providing a safe environment that nurtures connection and collaboration with his clients in order to instill hope and cultivate the outcomes they are seeking. He is able to provide parenting support to individual families and training to larger groups of parents utilizing the Good Enough Parenting model. Damian has also completed formal training in Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) with Duke University’s Center for Child and Family Health.
