We know that times of such uncertainty can trigger feelings of fear, sadness and anxiety. Alexandria Place Therapy has teletherapy appointments available for new clients who need help at this time. Please don’t hesitate to reach out for support, and know that we are sending peace and health to all of you.
“At many times throughout their lives, children will feel the world has turned topsy-turvy. It’s not the ever-present smile that will help them feel secure. It’s knowing that love can hold many feelings, including sadness, and that they can count on the people they love to be with them until the world turns right side up again.” -Fred Rogers
At Alexandria Place Therapy, our goal is to create safe space for all of our clients and the community. Given the current concerns we are facing in the world, Alexandria Place Therapy has decided the safest option for our clients and staff is to transition to teletherapy for the present time. We are using HIPAA-approved telehealth platforms to provide therapeutic services that are as close as possible to the in-person experience our clients have come to trust and value. This transition allows our clinicians and our clients to avoid unnecessary exposure, while maintaining continuity of care, especially during such uncertain times. Our clinicians are getting creative about ways to engage in virtual play therapy sessions with our child clients as well as focusing on connection and support in virtual sessions with adults.
We feel hopeful and believe we can continue to be helpful in this new endeavor. We also look forward to the time we can sit in the same room together again soon.
“Transitions are almost always signs of growth, but they can bring feelings of loss. To get somewhere new, we may have to leave somewhere else behind.” -Mr. Fred Rogers
We, at Alexandria Place Therapy, value authentic and genuine connection with our clients and their families. We believe this connection is the groundwork for all work we do with clients.
